Strong's Bible Concordance

In 1890 the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible was first published under the direction of Dr. James Strong a Professor of exegetical theology at Drew Theological Seminary.

This concordance is an exhaustive cross reference of all words found in the King James Version (KJV) giving you the definition and Original Hebrew and Greek roots.

The Strong's references allow lay readers to more thoroughly understand what Bible passages are saying and better study the original texts without knowing either Greek or Hebrew. This can deliver a better understanding of Bible texts than had you just read a single Bible translation.

Today other translations have added the strong's numbers into their translations, such as the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) which is included on Smart Bible Search.

Strong's concordance is an easy to use system that assigns a reference code to correspond to each Hebrew (OT) or Greek (NT) word found in the original texts. Greek references start with the letter G and are followed by the reference number (ie. G2424). Hebrew references follow the same format, and start with the letter H (ie. H430).

Smart Bible Search also allows you to do a Dynamic search for any Strong's reference code. When doing a "Literal" Bible search, you must select either the HCSB or KJV with Strong's for results to return. When this type of search is done, all passages that contain that Strong's reference code will be returned on the result pages that follow.

When viewing a verse that contains a Strong's reference, you can view the definition of that word by clicking on the strong's reference code.
